eMerge is a conference that features innovation and entrepreneurship across North and South America, bringing together government, higher education, startups, investors, corporate enterprises and media. Over the past year, Miami has witnessed an influx of crypto powerhouses. Mayor Suarez’s infamous tweet “How Can I Help?” on December 4, 2020 started a Miami Movement that continues to this day. Innovation was welcomed with open arms by local leaders, and entrepreneurship is thriving here.

Miami is unlike other tech hubs. It’s full of optimistic crypto builders, a community of artists and creators, and a Web3-savvy mayor. The city also saw crypto VC investment skyrocket from $6 million in 2020 to $745 million in 2021, and ranks fourth in the nation for the number of crypto hires.

As I recently shared with Bloomberg, the city has a non-corporate, laid back vibe, leading to unlikely meetings between strangers that can flourish into business partnerships. People want to help each other here, and are all invested in Miami’s success.
