Luxury Sneaker Brand Adidas Partners With STEPN To Launch NFT Sneakers

STEPN, the move-to-earn platform that gamifies physical wellness, has partnered with the global sports brand Adidas to launch generative non-fungible token sneakers. The partnership also aims to revolutionize the lifestyle app ecosystem and bring global adoption to the web3.

STEPN Partners With Adidas To Launch NFT Sneakers

In an April 15 blog post, the move-to-earn gaming platform STEPN confirmed signing a strategic partnership with the global luxury sport brand Adidas. This groundbreaking partnership will include multiple activations meant to provide a full experience to their communities.

Launched in July 2021, STEPN is a move-to-earn platform focused on motivating individuals to stay physically active. Since its inception, STEPN has gained massive traction among crypto enthusiasts, and it now boasts over 5 million users. STEPN ranks as one of the leading move-to-earn web3 applications.

By incentivizing exercise through rewards, the app requires users to purchase a virtual Sneaker NFT, link their smartphones, and earn rewards through walking, jogging, or running. The M2E platform envisioned blending the $385 billion gaming industry with the $1.5 trillion wellness industry through various crypto innovations.

On the other hand, Adidas is another global leader in the sporting goods industry, which was founded on August 18, 1949. The luxury sports brand now employs more than 59,000 people across the globe. In 2022, the sport brand Adidas had generated sales of €22.5 billion.

STEPN x Adidas Sneaker NFT Collection

Under the new partnership, STEPN and Adidas anticipate joining their blockchain capabilities to launch a fixed supply of 1000 generative NFT sneakers. The STEPN x Adidas Genesis Sneakers are co-branded with STEPN’s lightning bolt logo and Adidas’ three stripes. The NFT collection will be minted on the Solana blockchain network.

The STEPN x Adidas Genesis Sneakers collection will be sold via the MOOAR marketplace and priced at 10,000 in STEPN’s native GMT. While commenting about the new partnership, Shiti Manghani, the chief executive officer of STEPN, remarked:

“This collaboration between STEPN and adidas underscores how powerful it is when you can move-and-earn in both the virtual and real world simultaneously. That such a physical and digital – or ‘phygital’ – partnership between the most widely used lifestyle app and a global brand like adidas are now a reality indicates the direction lifestyle rewards are going.”

The new collaboration appeared just a few months after STEPN inked another partnership with the digital artist Steve Aoki to build the AoK1Verse ecosystem. In August, Adidas Originals partnered with BAPE on a limited edition sneaker collaboration paired with a digital twin NFT version.
